Don’t read what’s below until you listen to it. I don’t want to influence you too much before you listen to the song, even though I was all ecstatic above and have already caused you to have high-ish expectations. It’s kind of like stripped down but blurry. It’s not quite bare because of the glow-echoing sound, so I don’t want to say it’s like that. It’s just simple I guess. At first I thought the close face shot would be awkward, but now I really like it. It just seems honest because it’s continuously trained on her face, so any awkward pauses are recorded, and I bet the singer is slightly uncomfortable (er, I’d be) and it just seems so normal that her eyes would flit off to the sides during pauses. Her voice. Oh my god. Anyway, my favorite parts are 2:39(obviously) and 0:40(whenever her voice does that almost-faltering-sound as it goes up) and the beginning.

Wow, it's been so long since I last posted a post. Every time I felt like posting these past few months, I would get distracted by something and then I wouldn't feel like posting anymore. Because of this, I have collected a lot of links and a lot of things I feel like talking about. So let me get the links out first, and then I'll go on with everything else I was going to say.

Oh, I also have a list of books and anime and maybe music that I feel like recommending. I'll do that later. This is already longer than I expected, so I think I'll just post what I was going to post originally later.

Now for the end song! Sometimes I feel like adding two songs at the end of my posts because I can't decide between them, but it just doesn't work because I always feel like the song at the end is the theme of the post or something, even if its not. Usually its a song that's either my current favorite, or one I was listening to while making the post. Right now I don't really have a current favorite, just songs that haven't gotten too old for me yet. So here's a song that fits into that category.

Never Gonna Leave This Bed by Maroon 5 - This is pretty popular right now. Or maybe it was a few weeks ago that it was? Anyway, I especially like this song because as soon as I hear it begin, I want to listen to the rest of it. Sometimes I hear a song beginning and I go, "too depressing", or "ugh, not right now", but this song is so versatile for many moments, and that's why I like it.

So...

So, I have gotten my schedule for school and it's pretty good. My only complaints would be that I have Geometry every morning, and Ceramics is before Drawing, which is like a tranference from messy... to mostly clean. Well, I have decided that I will make a schedule for the rest of my short summer and for school.

So far it's just been: Sleep-computer-eat-computer-eat-sleep. But now I will elaborate and add more constructive things to my day. It's mostly because even though high school is exciting and all, it also means chinese school will start again soon, and that's such a pain. T_T

So! I will take action. Here is my schedule.

It's hourly. Yay! I know I could conserve space by deleting all my sleeping, but this way is more fun. As you can see, I have a lot of time to do whatever I want. Therefore, I have 2 rules.

Rule #1. Somehow implement 30 minutes of drawing, eating lunch, and basic necessities into your time of doing whatever you want.

Rule #2. You can study chinese for 30 minutes earlier anytime if you want, but by 3:30pm, if you haven't studied, you better do it now. >:(

On another subject, Nitrome has a new game. Nitrome updates so frequently, and sometimes they update before I want to do a blog post. And I feel like adding a post just for one teensy little link to a game-updating-machine is too many posts of non-thinking? So, I just added a little text thing over on the left side which will be for all those little game updates that come often enough to not include in the links page or as a post. I'm not sure how to explain it so that you don't have to reread that sentence. However, there is one link that's pretty cool, which I will include here:

Q-BLOCK - Have you ever heard of pixel art? This is just like pixel art, except it's 3D(none of that isometric stuff) and you can rotate it around, export it, or use it as your desktop wallpaper. Isn't that cool? It's like legos, but neater and square.

I just found an interesting site full of design ideas.

The designs range from urban art, clothing, interior, illusions, and random miscellaneous things.

So far, I've seen a 120 zipper dress, shredded tax papers dress, color pencil shoes, a toothbrush with a dent that lets you rinse, heat activated wallpaper, life-sized dollhouse, a pen that scans a color and lets your draw with it, and an art student that decided to live in an elevator one day.

Ooba Glooba, Little Bees

How do you think aliens sound?
I picture green gloopy aliens with one eye and three tentacles and an O shaped mouth. And they have three fingers with little whatever-those-things-are that octopus have on their arms. They have an eggplant shaped body, move slow and go "ooba glooba".

I am reading Little Bee right now, for summer reading. I am also halfway through "Something Wicked This Way Comes" which I always think is "Something Wicked Comes Along". Jane Eyre is the most dreaded book at the moment, since its definately the longest and most boring book I chose off the list. The other books are about teenagers salvaged for their body parts, two-faced circuses that change overnight, and a book that is so special that it doesn't have a very resourceful summary(although intriguing, somewhat) and supposedly has a horrific beach scene that I have yet to read.

Little Bee is much better than I expected. I love the narrative of Little Bee, but I don't really like how it changes from her POV to the woman-who's-got-a-kid-obsessed-with-batman in every other chapter. LB's commentary and descriptions are much more interesting than the other person's. I was interested in the book when I read the summary, but then I thought, oh no, it must be one of those books that have intriguing summaries but lack of substance. And then I got the book and it was just beautiful. I figured that a book with font as wonderful as that and with such a nice summary-area on the inside cover had to be good. I judge books by the cover a lot, even though I'm not supposed to, but when you compare The Goose Girl and Treasure Island, well...

VECTORPARK!!

Vectorpark is awesome. You have to try it. Its a website with a variety of interactive vector stuff. Its got crazy ideas. Everything is so simple looking and amazing with its animation and sounds and everything. I found this a while ago, I can't believe I forgot to add it to my Links list. Its now on the list, by the way. You can interact with almost everything. And you can click, drag, prod, or just hold-click, and it'll do something. The animation is cute too.

Well, they came up with a new game (except this one, you have to download. But it works on Macs too! And its $3 for the full thing. But it's not those stupid ones where you're only on the 2nd level and it makes you pay. Its just plain perfect.) It's called Windosill.

My favorite games on Vectorpark are Feed the Head, Windosill, and the one with the tri-legged creatures(Acrobots).

With Feed the Head, you don't really know when it ends. It feels like it can't go on even further, but it can. Have you gotten to the part where the head jumps over the bar stuff? I love his nose. Pull it off. Do it again. I love the trunk nose too. Give it a ball, and it'll take it with its trunk and eat it. (O_o) Different things that the Head eats causes different things. Yawning is key...

Windosill is cute. I love the first scene. For some reason, one of my favorite parts is dragging the little tree and watching it bob up and down. My actual favorite, though, is the bird scene. When you feed it the worm. And don't let go. Nothing happens, its just so cute. The puzzles are the perfect difficulty. No instructions just makes the whole thing better.

Just click it. I'm 90% sure you'll love it.

Caligraft: Hilos - Its like a font that changes focus when you move the cursor. Type in something, press enter, and move the mouse. You can pick different font things too. (A bunch on the Exhibition page) Also, I found this link from the aM laboratory site, so I'm guessing they have more cool links. :) All the fonts types work differently, though.

Rustyard and Final Ninja Zero

Final Ninja Zero - The sequel to Final Ninja, except the time period is actually before Final Ninja. 16 levels. I love the first level. :)

Rustyard - This has been out for a while now. Its a little like OneKey because you only use your mouse, and your little robot guy just keeps walking obliviously into walls. So you control the things around him so that he gets to the goal safely and can unplug his head(very cute). Also reminds me of that movie, Wall-E. :D Lots of levels.

Mirror Image

New Nitrome Game.

Mirror Image - You are a warlock who seems to be unable to walk. To move, you draw lines, and the guy teleports to the other side of the line. At first it's ok, but then the little line that tells you where you'll land goes away, and that's when it gets harder.

Sentences - 3 in one sentences game. A quote is given to you in some way, but you have to either play hangman, unscramble the words, or you are given the first 3 letters of the first word and then try to guess that word (and so on with the next few words). Simple graphics.

Hello, haven't been on for a while. The finals are making everyone so busy! Anyway, a few links I didn't have time to post:

The Majesty of the Colors - Reminds me of "I Wish I Were the Moon". It's pixeled, and you're a monster with a tentacle that lives under the ocean. Little people come around and you can grab things or people and depending on what you do, they'll love you or fight you.

Meeblings - Kind of like Lemmings. All kinds of meeblings appear and each can do a different thing. Click on one to activate its power so that they get to the "Way Out" sign.

Downhill Bowling - Extreme Bowling.

Fat Cat - Nitrome, new game! A fat cat with his Burping power and his guardian owl, who pretty much does everything. :3 Cute. Get through the level by shooting all flying monsters and blasting wall with your uber burping power.

Also, powder game has new additions!
bomb - explodes when it touches almost anything
laser - shoots out lasers. (Try firework lasers. :D)(And user your laser power with player)

Ok, a few fun games.

Bomba - New Nitrome game! Its called Bomba. Basically, you control yourself with the cursor and press space to freeze the game. Don't touch the walls and collect bomb power-ups to get rid of obstacles.

Hanna in a Choppa - Really fun! You can do a bunch with this one. Use a helicopter to do a whole variety of things. Bake a cake or herd sheep, and then do a bunch of achievements. Cute, simple graphics.

Conceptis Puzzles

Wow. Here's a link to Conceptis Puzzles. Basically, its a site filled with puzzles, except they arent crosswords or mazes, they're pixels(Pic-A-Pix). I usually dont like puzzle sites because they're all the same, but you must try this one out! They have pixel puzzles, battleship, sudoku, slitherlink, kakuro, hitori, and hashi(not that I recognise anything after sudoku).

The special thing about the Pixel puzzles are that you end up with a small pixel picture if you get it right. There are many of these puzzles, except each has a different way of getting these pictures. There are also different difficulty levels. They vary from mega-big, many colors, 2 colors, and to the most basic, the black & white colors. Some have a combination of them too.

Pixel Puzzles - A link to all the types of pixel puzzles - Pic-A-Pix, Fill-A-Pix, Link-A-Pix, Maze-A-Pix, and Dot-A-Pix.

The pixel puzzles are HIGHLY confusing if you dont read the instructions, or at least the links I'm about to give you.

Tutorial - For those of you who don't like to read instructions, this is a video tutorial they have on their site. It is very helpful, although long. But since its so long, it covers most situations.

Rules - Self Explanatory. This isn't long at all, since its split into which puzzles you are doing.

Tips - Tips on doing the puzzles. (Try the bigger numbers first!)

Techniques - A step-by-step guide on the strategy for doing the pixel puzzles. Its like the video tutorial, but in writing and picture format. :)

Interactive - What you can do in the puzzle, and helpful things to know.

There. At the least, use the links for the tutorial and rules.

Now then, even after that, its sometimes still confusing. Also, the solution to the first 6 pixel puzzles are on the picture-link. Not all of them show the solution. For the ones that don't, you have to register and go to My Conceptis to see the puzzles. They make a new one every several days or so(6?). Anyway, here's a bunch of stuff I found out from playing.

• If you click on the marking tool, and want to go back to the norml filling tool, click the marking tool again.
• The numbers on the side can be clicked on so that they turn white or black. (Not sure if it work for puzzles other than Pic-A-Pix at the moment)
• When the numbers double or triple up on the sides of the grid, it means that there are 2-3 seperate groups of blocks, depnding on how many numbers are there. For example, if the numbers 2,2,4 were on the side, that means that row or column has OO OO OOOO (pretend these are blocks) somewhere in there. Although the spacing might be different, the groups will always stay together, and there will be at least one empty block between them. (Pic-A-Pix)
• The numbers on the side tell you how many filled blocks are in that row or column. Multiple numbers mean -refer to above-. (Pic-A-Pix)
• These pixel puzzles require no math or english. According to the description, these puzzles improve logic and cognitive thinking.
• You can do these puzzles on the computer(preferable), or printed out.

Ok, I've been browsing the web all morning, and I found some interesting links. It's unlikely that you'll check them everyday, but its worth it to take a look.

Instant Origami - A bunch of origami sculptures that are made with speed. The only one I can recognize is the dragon though.

Flying Pizza Kitty - Er...Not really sure what this is, but its very cute.

Distraction Game - At first, it seems like a normal, simple game. But 10 seconds into it, distractions from outside your game screen start distracting and making the simple game more hectic. I love all the distractions.

Cows Go Moo - Why do they do that anyway?

Lost in Translation - Lol! Type something, and it translates it 5 times between languages, and back to english. Interesting results.

Past Life - Enter birthdate and get information on your "past life".

Planet 10 - Build a planet and see if it survives.

Ok, I am going to go through my links so you can get a good idea of what each of them are. Future links will probably have their own summary in another post. I'd add it to this post...but its long enough as it is.

• DeviantART : A place with tons of art that people make, including literature, emoticons, photography, painting, and much more.
• Dino Run : A cute game in which you (the dino) are running to dino paradise so that you can escape the apocalypse. Balance on meteors, eat lizards, collect power-ups, get rides from other dinos, collect eggs, and even race in multiplayer with other dinos. There are many milestones to use, and the overall retro look to it is just too awesome.
• Emily Short IF : Im a big fan of Interactive Fiction (IF). If you dont know what IF is, you can check this website and it will have a good How-to guide to playing interactive fiction. Emily Short has some really good interactive fiction, so be sure to try them out!
• Flickr : A place where anyone can upload photos and share them with others. If you find a picture you especially like, add it to your favorites! The people on Flickr have some really neat pictures. How do they do it?
• JayIsGames : A collection of casual games. I usually find games here, and they have reviews and ratings on them all, along with some helpful walkthroughs. IF, webtoys, grow games, escape-the-room games(although I suck at those) are among the many many games that they have.

• Nitrome : One of my favorite links ever. Nitrome creates its own pixelized games and everything in it is just so cute and squishable. Especially the little characters in "Mutiny". The only game I've ever beaten completely was "Jack Frost". Although they update frequently and have a fun-to-read blog, its always exciting when they come up with a new game.
• Playlist : Make your own music playlist and listen to others. I usually have my playlist on in the background while browsing the web.
• Powder game : Another one of my favorite links ever. This is a sandbox game, so you can basically do anything you want. There are many elements to choose from. Water, seed, powder, player, fighter, magma, c-4, metal, thunder, superball, wind, ice, and way more. The fun part of the game is how the elements interact with each other. blow the ice away with wind and create snow. Sprinkle some seeds on powder and grow a plant. Then burn it up with fire. Create a fighting arena, a volcano, a waterfall, an obstacle course for the player, the possibilities are really endless. For a really nice experience, change the BG to BG-shade. You can even save these and share them with others. Also, scroll down for information about everything, especially player and BG. :) Have fun and enjoy!
• Quizilla : Make quizzes and stories and post them for people to rate, read, and try. Once thats done, see if it will make it to the Most Popular or Top Rated list.
• Scribbler : Draw a simple design. Then click scribble and watch it work its magic. Voila! Change the color of the scribble and you have more control of how the scribble works. Also check out the website of the person who made this. The only thing it seems to be missing is an eraser, although an imperfect drawing seems to turn out really nice anyway.
• Shannon Hale's Website : This is the website of my favorite author. Read up info on books she's written and info about herself that might be helpful to novel writers-to-be.
• Travian: Make a village. Conquer other villages with your troops. Expand your resources. Survive raids and attacks. Then try to make it to the high scores.
• World-o-Meters : Current statistics on population, economy, environment, education, energy, health, water, and food. The numbers might be surprising.

Wow, this is my first post! I will be writing about everything on my blog so far and a few things about myself.
I've been exploring all the page elements and at the moment we have...

• About me: A small description "about me".
• A poll: A place where you can vote on your opinion! I plan on changing the poll every month. I started in the middle of July, so you all only have 15 days to vote instead of the normal 30 or so days. Oh well.
• A links list: A list of links to places that I find interesting. I love links, as some of the people on my email know. :)

Ok, so not much, but I really had to get started on my first post. Hehe... Ok, now into more detail about me. o_o

• I love making art - graphics, pen & ink, painting, etc. (I love crafty projects too)
• I use o_o O_o :) :D and other text emotes. I think it comes from playing too many MMORPGs and using aim.
• I love reading and pasar tiempo con amigas. (Must review spanish before I forget it all!)
• I love chocolate croissants, tapioca(bubble tea), pocky and most things from a bakery. Athough, not counting the cakes since some are too sweet. o_o
• I love reading instructions, tutorials, and intros. :) And guides on some things.
• I love small text. I love neat, simple things. o_o
• My favorite color is blue.
• I wear a watch all the time.
